So the Search Engine Optimization process also known as SEO has been developed by specialists to get a website to the top of Google Search Results so people can easily find their web site. Getting to Google page one has become important as a treasure hunt, especially for businesses.
Like a treasure hunt a map is necessary to properly guide a web site to get to Google Page one and get the top spot. Several SEO specialists have crafted different methods and implemented different strategies to achieve their ultimate goal. There are different criteria that Google Search Rankings are based on. But one of the very important factors is the number of links that point to the page. But Google looks at link relationships between the sites that a website’s links are coming from.
To determine the best sites for a particular keyword, Google traces their backlinks. Google has a way of tracing these links in a large scale. It actually looks for sites that have more link juice, for the particular keyword. The sites with the highest amount of Link Juice for the particular keyword usually rank better than the others. Of course there are several factors that affect a web site’s search ranking but link juice is one of the most important aspects considered.
To understand Link Juice, We can set an example between website X and Y. Let’s say both of these sites want to rank for the keyword “Orange Juice”. Site X gets a link for the keyword Orange Juice from site A. And Site Y gets a link for the same keyword from site B. Both of them have equal amount of link Juice at this level. So Google would search further down the track and trace these links backwards. Say Site A gets one link each from Site C, D, E and F. And Site B gets one link each from site C and G. Site X gets ranked higher as it has more link juice flowing from sites C,D,E and F to Site A and then from site A, to Site X.
So Link building for SEO purposes has to be mapped out in a way that when a link points back to the website you are trying to rank, there should also be a site or sites linking back to the initial link source for the same keywords and these sites should also have links from other sites linking back to them for the same keyword. It would look like a huge network of links arranged layer after layer. Link Juice serves as a secret treasure map that will lead help a site get to the top spot of Google Page one.
